STUDENT ACHEIVEMENT AWARDS (SAA)
We are happy to announce that the Student Achievement Award has been updated. We now have three new recognition levels. They are Rising, Engage, and Inspire Award Levels. Students are encouraged to to completed the Service, Education, and Progress Activities in each of the award levels they wish to complete. Students will be recognized at State Leadership Conference for successfully completing each level.
Students must submit their forms by March 3, 2023.

RISING AWARD ACTIVITIES
Members must complete 12 activities (4 Service, 4 Education, 4 Progress) in Rising Award Level, to continue to the Engage Award Level. The form must be submitted by March 3rd. Recognition will be presented at the EdRising State Conference Awards Ceremony.
SERVICE
Complete four (4) activities from this section. The first two (2) are required.
Activity 1: (Required) Service Learning/Communication
Volunteer at least five (5) hours of service to a charity or service organization of your choice. (Track your hours and service activities.)
Activity 2: (Required) Service Learning/Communication
Participate in a committee at your local chapter.

Help your Chapter Advisor(s) with activities to celebrate Educators Rising Week. (Write a news release). February

EDUCATION
Complete four (4) activities from the list below. The first two (2) are required.
Activity 1: (Required) Career Awareness/Exploration
List at least five (5) goals (related to school, career, and personal) and include a description of how you plan to accomplish each one. (Save a copy of your goals).
Activity 2: (Required) Career Awareness/Exploration
List five (5) personal strengths and one personal weakness. Write and save a 100-word summary on what you can do to overcome the weakness.
Activity 3: Career Awareness/Exploration
You have just been hired at your school. Your first task is to create a floorplan of your classroom, explain, and label your plan.
Activity 4: Career Awareness/Exploration
Successfully complete one (1) Education Professions or Early Childhood Education Semester Course with a grade of ‘B’ or better.
Activity 5: Career Awareness/Exploration
Visit and tour an educational facility dressed in business attire. (Write a brief summary about the tour and include a photo of you and your members in front of the business that you toured. Save this document).

Complete a one-page report on a Local, State, or Educational Leader. (Save a copy of the report).

Read an article a publication on Education Professions or Early Childhood Education from a newspaper, magazine, or online format. (Write and save a one-page letter in proper business format summarizing and reacting to this article. Address the letter to your Local Chapter Advisor).

PROGRESS

Bring a friend who is a Non-Member to a Local Chapter EdRising Meeting and post a photo of you and your friend #EdRising Meeting on your chapter Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook account and tag one of the state social media outlets.
Activity 2: (Required) Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Attend at least three (3) Local Chapter Meetings and prepare and save a one-page paper that includes the date of each meeting and a bulleted list of meeting highlights.
Activity 3: Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Invite an Education Leader or Educators Rising Alumni Member to speak at a meeting. Write and save a letter inviting this person or Educators Rising Alumni Member to your meeting.
Activity 4: Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Attend a Local Chapter Activity or Event. Prepare and save a 100-word summary describing this event or activity.
Activity 5: Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Participate in the planning of a promotional event and write a 100-word summary describing this event or activity.
Activity 6: Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Prepare a Recruitment Flyer for students to join EdRising. Include five (5) benefits and pictures.
Activity 7: Leadership/Educators Rising Organization and National Programs
Text five (5) friends and invite them to the next EdRising meeting. (List the names on the interactive form.)

ENGAGE AWARD ACTIVITIES

Participate in a literacy project i.e., visit an elementary classroom and read a book, tutor an After-School Reading Program, or help plan a Chapter Book Drive. (Post a photo of you participating in the project to one of your Chapter’s Social Media Tools i.e., Instagram, Facebook You Tube, Twitter. Include a brief description of the project).
Activity 3: Service Learning/Communication
Help plan and conduct one of the Educators Rising Ceremonies (Educators Rising Emblem Ceremony, Chapter Installation, Officer Installation, or New Member Induction Ceremony) at a local chapter meeting, an Open House, a Local Chapter Event, or for a New or Reactivated Educators Rising Chapter. (Send a photo to post to your Chapter’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram Account).
Activity 4: Service Learning/Communication
Create and present a skit or lesson that teaches about safety to preschool or elementary students. (i.e., Halloween safety, emergency in case of a fire or 911 calls, home safety, internet safety, etc).
Activity 5: Service Learning/Communication
Participate in your Local Chapter by being a Chapter Officer. Gain leadership experience and lend your voice to Chapter-Level Work.
Activity 6: (Required): Service Learning/Communication
Participate on a committee to plan an Education Project for Elementary or Junior High Students. Make sure to include a photo.
Activity 7: Service Learning and /Communication
Help your Chapter organize and conduct an Environmental Service Project i.e. litter clean-up, donate energy efficient light bulbs to senior citizens, celebrate Earth Day, volunteer to help teachers “clear the clutter” and clean up their classrooms, sponsor a coloring contest (using an environmental picture) for elementary students after presenting a skit or presentation about the environment, etc.

Attend a Community or School Board Meeting, such as Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, School Board, Jaycee’s, Kiwanis, PTA, etc. Summarize what you learned and how it is connected to your life.

Plan and prepare a Lesson Plan for a State or National Competition. Upload a copy of the Lesson Plan.

INSPIRE AWARD ACTIVITIES
Members must complete 12 activities (4 Service, 4 Education, 4 Progress) in Inspire Award Level. The form must be submitted by March 3rd. Recognition will be presented at the EdRising State Conference Awards Ceremony.
SERVICE
Complete four (4) activities from the list below. The first two (2) are required.
Activity 1: (Required) Service Learning/Communication
Volunteer at least fifteen (15) hours of service to a charity or service organization of your choice. This must be a different organization than the one that you volunteered for when completing the Engage Level. (Track your hours and service activities.)
Activity 2: (Required)Service Learning/Communication
Prepare a 2–3-minute electronic presentation, movie, or podcast promoting Educators Rising. (Save a copy of the presentation, movie, or podcast).
Activity 3: Service Learning/Communication
Participate in the State Student Ambassador Program to increase student voice and involvement of Chapters across Arizona. Upload your State Ambassador Biography.
Activity 4: Service Learning/Communication
Research volunteer organizations or service businesses in or near your community (Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, leadership groups, community colleges, AARP, senior centers, nursing homes, Kiwanis Clubs, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, etc.) and prepare a proposal concerning partnering with them on a project. (Save a copy of the proposal).
Activity 5: Service Learning/Communication
Create an Autobiographical Scrapbook Presentation (video or slideshow) highlighting your life – this must include Educators Rising Activities, Community Service Activities, and Demonstrate Leadership Skills.
Activity 6: Service Learning/Communication
Plan and participate in a project of your choice that is designed to help your Local Chapter recruit and retain members and that has been approved by your Local Chapter Advisor. (Prepare and save a one-page report to your Advisor describing your project and what you learned).
Activity 7: Service Learning/Communication
Interview a Teacher or Administrator on why Community Service is important. Create five (5) questions (upload questions and responses).

EDUCATION
Complete four (4) activities from the list below. The first two (2) are required.
Activity 1: (Required) Career Awareness and Exploration
Create a travel brochure and a movie or podcast (no more than one minute in length) about the NLC. Include the following information: facts about the city, how to get around, two panel spread (at least four places of interest—landmarks, attractions, etc.), historical information or a map, at least four photographs/images of the city, a brief Educators Rising promo, and any other information for the traveler. (Save copies).
Activity 2: (Required) Career Awareness and Exploration
Complete a Half-Day Job Shadow Experience. (Complete a Job Shadow Report and include at least one photo of you on the job site in the report). Must include name of company, Supervisor name, brief description of job duties, and what you learned from this experience with a photo.
Activity 3: Career Awareness and Exploration
Design a newsletter for Chapter Members. Include Tips & Tricks to Competitive Events, Local Safe Activities, and Spotlight of Your Chapter i.e., Member of the Month. You must include in your newsletter at least one graphic, one photo, and two education related articles of your choice.
Activity 4: Career Awareness and Exploration
Identify the different ways that businesses compete with one another. Present your findings in a Chapter Meeting. Include how Educators Rising can use some of these ideas to promote the organization. (Prepare and save a one-page memo to your Local Chapter Advisor about your findings and post a photo of you presenting your findings and a brief description of what you learned on one of your Chapter’s Social Media Outlets i.e. Instagram, You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Activity 5: Career Awareness and Exploration
Go to one of the popular blog sites such as edublog.com or blogger.com and start your own blog using Educators Rising and leadership as topics. (Save a link to your blog).
Activity 6: Career Awareness and Exploration
Develop an Educators Rising game show, an Educators Rising music video, or a reality show about Educators Rising. Prepare a storyboard using electronic media such as video, YouTube, podcast, etc. (Save a copy of your game show, music video, or reality show).
Activity 7: Career Awareness and Exploration
Write a one page paper explaining the difference between public, private, and charter schools.

Prepare a resume, cover letter, and complete a job application form for your dream job. Download a job application form, fill out and save as a pdf. (Upload resume, cover letter and job application. Save your resume and cover letter).
Activity 3: Leadership/State and National Educators Rising Organization
Serve as a Voting Delegate at a State or National Conference. (Take a selfie at the conference and post it on one of your Chapter’s Social Media Outlets with #EdRisingVotingDelegate).
Activity 4: Leadership/State and National Educators Rising Organization
Prepare and present a workshop at a Local Meeting or State Conference. Include evaluations for each participating. The topic must relate to leadership. (Prepare and save an outline of your workshop and copies of any presentations and/or handouts).
Activity 5: Leadership/State and National Educators Rising Organization
Design an Advertisement and a PSA promoting Educators Rising National Competitive Events Program. Create a 2–3-minute video explaining how to compete in an event. (Save a copy of both).
Activity 6: Leadership/State and National Educators Rising Organization
Create an Electronic Portfolio highlighting your activities you have done in your Education Profession or Early Childhood Education Programs. Portfolio must include a resume, career research/career related education, and special skills or proficiencies. (Website does not need to be published).

Apply for the Gold level for the State Chapter Awards.
